COVID-19 Policies and Information

Important Library Information

The library's goal during COVID-19 is to continue to provide traditional library services to students and staff with modifications necessary to ensure safety. Print materials will always be available for request even though students cannot access the physical library. We have purchased more ebooks/audiobooks to facilitate remote services. Please see the "Audiobooks and Ebooks" tab for information about how to access these resources. The librarian (avega@mymtsd-vt.org) is accessible via email and video conferencing for any assistance with research, school work, student requests, or just to chat about life and books.
Community Book Discussions which are such a huge part of our school's learning community will be held virtually on the first Wednesday of each month. Please see the "Community Book Discussion" tab for more details.  If you need anything thing at all, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Phase 1 (Fully Remote) Guidelines:
  • The library will be closed to all students
  • Books and resources will be requested using the directions provided.
  • Books and resources will be distributed and returned in accordance with school policies very similar to the Spring of 2020.
  • All safety protocols for the sharing of resources will be implemented

Phase 2 (Hybrid Model) Guidelines: This is where we are starting.
  • The library will be closed to all students at all times to ensure maximum safety.
  • Students will use the online catalog and resources to request books and resources. Trainings will be provided to all students and directions can be found on this website under the "Library Catalog" tab.
  • Students will be emailed to notify them that their materials are ready for pickup. Students will pick up their items from a cart located outside of the library. Items will be placed in a brown paper bag to maintain confidentiality. Their first name and last initial will be written outside of the bag for easy identification.
  • Book returns will be placed in a bin outside of the library. The loan period is still one month. Students are expected to return books within a month or email the librarian asking for a renewal.
  • For safety, all returned books will be quarantined for three days (as per state guidance) before being recirculated to others.

Phase 3 (80% in Person) Guidelines:
  • The library will be open to students in a limited capacity. Teachers will be able to reserve the space for library services but students will not be able to socialize or access the library independently.
  • All of the procedures put in place for Phase 2 will continue for Phase 3.
